Guernsey is a black domestic short hair, born September 28, 2007. Guernsey has a slightly cropped ear. Mayzee was found in an abandoned barn as a mother who had just given birth to two kittens. She was likely dumped at the barn by an uncaring owner who let her outside but did not spay her. Mayzee and her two female kittens Jersey and Guernsey came to Kitty Corner to come in from the cold to look for a warm family life. Mayzee has been adopted, but her two daughters are still waiting for their forever families. Both the daughters are shy around people, but have great potential to bloom with 1-on-1 attention and love. Guernsey is the shier of the two sisters. She doesn’t run from people, but she won’t usually approach them either. She often waits to see how other cats, including her sister, interact with the people. Guernsey gets along great with other cats. She enjoys their company and is very friendly and playful. Guernsey would like to have at least one other cat in her family to snuggle and play with. Though Guernsey and her sister Jersey are close and it would be nice to see them adopted together – however, they do not need to be adopted together. Guernsey has never had a family, and would love to have one to call her own. Can you show this lovely young girl what it’s like to be loved? Please, call now to come and meet her.Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 to meet our cats and adopt a new member of your family. Guernsey tests negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline …
Kitty Corner of CNY Will

Will is a handsome male black domestic long hair, born on 08-25-2002. Will was adopted from us several years ago, where he lived with his family for 6 years until he was recently returned after the family has had some tragic losses. The husband was a ‘cat person’ and the wife was a ‘dog person’. Not surprisingly, Will became very close with the husband and son but never bonded with the wife. Then a lot of change hit the family all at once … first the son went off to college, then the husband unexpectedly died, then Will’s elder feline companion passed away. All this happened within a few short weeks. The wife returned Will to us a few months later, claiming her allergies were the reason for his return. It did seem obvious that there was never a bond between the two of them, though. Will is a very in-your-face friendly snuggly lap kitty, and he LOVES attention. He loves people, but he does seem to have a preference for men. We feel he would do best in a family where there was at least one male (of any age from toddler to grandpa) who enjoyed Will’s company and was willing to spend time with him. Will had a feline companion before that he enjoyed the company of, so he is used to being in a family with another feline. Here, Will seems to like some cats and dislike others. Will is a strong personality, we consider him to be bossy but not aggressive. We feel his change to a more dominant behavior is also from the change of going from a family to a shelter. Because Will is …

Roseanna is a female black and white domestic short hair, born February 13 2004. Roseanna is a rescue from a large house with several apartments in East Syracuse. She and some other abandoned and stray pets were living in the attic. One of the tenants found them and brought Roseanna and some of the other attic cats to Kitty Corner so that they could find a forever home. Roseanna is a beautiful girl who loves to roll around playfully and explore. Roseanna is a little nervous with strangers, but once she has met and become comfortable with someone, she is a friendly and loving cat to people she knows. Roseanna gets along OK with the other cats here. She enjoys but does not require their presence. We feel she would be a wonderful companion for someone with or without other cats in the family. Roseanna is looking for a family who doesn’t expect ‘instant love’ from her, and can show her patience and understanding so she may overcoming her wariness. The family that can offer her time and love will be rewarded with a devoted, loyal friend for life. Petunia is a particularly pretty little tortoiseshell with beautiful green eyes. He fur is medium-length but it doesn’t mat, and she requires little grooming. Petunia was born in April 1996. Petunia came to us as a tiny kitten during the summer of 1996. She and her sister were found under a piece of machinery in a local factory. Though frightened at first, both became very tame and friendly. Her sister was adopted soon after, but Petunia is still waiting for the right person to be her forever family. Petunia is very gentle and quiet, a real lady. She is friendly with us and loves to be cuddled and petted, but Petunia is shy on her first meeting with strangers. We feel she would do best in a quiet home with someone who is home frequently to spend time with her. Though she would probably hide at first, we believe she would quickly adjust in a stable home. She would be ideal for an elderly person looking for a companion cat. Petunia gets along well with other cats. She enjoys but does not require their presence. We feel she could do well either as the only feline in the family, or in a family with a feline companion. If you have a quiet household and some time to bond with her, Petunia could become a wonderful companion. Her only request is a family with lots of love and patience to help her adjust. Please call us to come meet her, and give her a chance to bloom!Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 to meet our cats and adopt a new member of your family. Petunia tests negative …
Kitty Corner of CNY Tobey

Tobey is a large orange short hair cat. He was born March 28, 1999. Tobey came to us when his person passed away. He has always known a loving home and had excellent vet care. His personality and attitude reflect that. Tobey is a big, cuddly, Morris-type cat who is loaded with confidence. He’s the ‘King of the Roost’ here, and he supervises everything in his area. Tobey’s interested in everything around him. In fact, he is quite the busybody. Tobey absolutely loves people, and is friendly right from the start. When he wants attention, he will let you know. He has no hesitation climbing up in your lap and settling down for a snooze. When over-stimulated (usually by petting), Tobey may give unexpected ‘love nips’. He doesn’t really hurt anyone and he never breaks skin, but it can be scary if you aren’t prepared for it — so we think a family without small children would be best for him. Tobey’s so affectionate that it’s hard to believe this snuggly sunbeam hasn’t found a home. As it turns out, he’s a bit stubborn about his ‘marking’ or bathroom habits, which hasn’t gone over well with potential adopters. Tobey is used to having other cats around (he had three feline companions in his old home). He would do fine with other feline family members, or on his own as a only cat. Tobey is used to lots of attention in a home of his own, so he is lonely here at Kitty Corner. We’re hoping he won’t be with us long. Can you help give him the family he so dearly misses?Call Kitty Corner …
Kitty Corner of CNY Boxer

Boxer is a beautiful orange and white short hair. Boxer was born October 27, 1993. Boxer was one of our first adoptions. He was named not for any aggressive tendencies, but for the extra toes on his paws, which reminded his person of boxing gloves. Boxer was adopted and loved by a wonderful person, and they shared 12 happy years together. When his person went into a nursing home and could no longer care for him, he came back to Kitty Corner. At first, he was very lonely without his person. To ease his loneliness he’s taken to watching over the kittens here, whom he adores and takes wonderful care of. The kittens love his companionship as well. Still, Boxer longs for a person of his very own. He’s an affectionate and friendly cat, who comes up to greet you right from the start. He’s a snuggler and a lap cat, who loves watching TV and sharing fleecy blankets with his favorite person. Boxer is a sweet, loving cat. His personality is so friendly and warm, he truly is the world’s sweetest cat. So how can such a sweet cat not have found a home yet? Well, Boxer has a two-fold problem … Boxer suffers from irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a physical problem with the intestines. It basically means the intestines squeeze either too hard or not hard enough; and cause food to move too quickly or too slowly through the intestines. This causes either constipation or diarrhea. So besides being uncomfortable and sometimes painful for him, it means that Boxer …
Kitty Corner of CNY Indy

Indy is a lilac-point Siamese / domestic short hair mix. He was probably born in the Summer of 2003. Indy is a very friendly boy, who craves attention from people. As with most of the Siamese breed, Indy is a very people-oriented cat. He very much likes to be the center of attention from his person, and he can be a bit pushy at times. He gets along fine with other cats, but he sometimes competes with them for a person’s attention. For this reason, we feel Indy would do best in a home where he was an only cat, so he could get all the attention he needs. Are you the family Indy’s been waiting for?Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 to meet our cats and adopt a new member of your family. Diamondback is a male brown tabby domestic short hair, born November 14th, 2007. Diamondback was a stray who was hanging around the County 911 call center, until management ordered the staff to “get rid of him”. With nowhere else to go and no one who could take him in, Diamondback came to Kitty Corner to find a forever home. Diamondback is afraid of people. New people scare him, and he hides from strangers. Diamondback is a bit shy even around the people he knows. When in a familiar environment he is ‘out and about’. While he doesn’t mind the proximity of people he’s familiar with, approaching him makes him very nervous and causes him to hide. We can’t imagine what may have happened to him outside to make him so afraid of people, all we know is it will take a patient, loving family to bring him to trust people again. Diamondback is indifferent to other cats, and he does not interact with them much. He tolerates but does not enjoy their company. We feel Diamondback would do best in a single cat home, with a very patient person who would be willing to give Diamondback the time he needs to feel comfortable enough to come to trust them. Diamondback is looking for a family who can be patient with him and understand his fears, and show him that it’s safe to trust people again. If you think you may be the right family for Diamondback, please call us today to come meet him.Call Kitty Corner at 315-457-4420 to meet our cats and adopt a new member of your family. Whisper is a female white with a tiny bit of grey on her tail domestic short hair, born 03-01-1999. Whisper was adopted from Kitty Corner as a kitten and spent a wonderful decade with a very loving woman. The woman has since become unable to take care of either Whisper or herself, and had to go into a nursing home. The woman’s daughter kindly saw to Whisper’s safe return to us. So once again, Whisper is back at Kitty Corner looking for a home. Whisper a lovely cat in every way. She has a quiet, gentle personality — so sweet and loving. She is a well mannered little lady too, as neat and tidy as a cat can be. Whisper is just a very lovely and loving cat. Whisper is friendly with people she knows, but she is reserved on her first meeting with strangers – she won’t usually approach first, but if approached she won’t run. Once the petting starts she enjoys the attention and companionship she gets. We feel she is missing the companionship of her family more then she is willing to let on, but she is not the type to be pushy about asking for attention. We feel Whisper would be an ideal cat for an elderly person who is looking for some feline companionship from a cat that is low maintenance. Whisper gets along well with other cats, she enjoys but does not require their company. She might prefer to be the only cat in the family, but could also do well as a companion for a cat that was also of a quiet nature. Whisper is hyperthyroid, and her condition is well controlled through …
