Kitty Corner of CNY Diamondback

Diamondback is a male brown tabby domestic short hair, born November 14th, 2007. Diamondback was a stray who was hanging around the County 911 call center, until management ordered the staff to “get rid of him”. With nowhere else to go and no one who could take him in, Diamondback came to Kitty Corner to find a forever home. Diamondback is afraid of people. New people scare him, and he hides from strangers. Diamondback is a bit shy even around the people he knows. When in a familiar environment he is ‘out and about’. While he doesn’t mind the proximity of people he’s familiar with, approaching him makes him very nervous and causes him to hide. We can’t imagine what may have happened to him outside to make him so afraid of people, all we know is it will take a patient, loving family to bring him to trust people again. Diamondback is indifferent to other cats, and he does not interact with them much. He tolerates but does not enjoy their company. We feel Diamondback would do best in a single cat home, with a very patient person who would be willing to give Diamondback the time he needs to feel comfortable enough to come to trust them. Diamondback is looking for a family who can be patient with him and understand his fears, and show him that it’s safe to trust people again.
